Events

Neighborhood Meetings

It’s a Neighborhood Association, so yes, we have meetings!  We average about 4 meetings per year. Our meetings include neighborhood business, guests from around the city, and a chance to see your neighbors in person. See the calendar for when we meet.

The Progressive Dinner

It’s NOT about politics! Annually, 3-4 neighbors agree to host a segement of the progressive dinner, which is an evening event where each course of a meal happens at a different home. It’s a great way to connect, have some fun, and get a chance to see into some really cool houses!

Board Meetings

Our CPNA Board meets a week before the Neighborhood-at-large meets to finalize the agenda, do any voting, and to otherwise organize CPNA.  If you want to learn how to join the board and the responsibilities therein, please reach out via the form at the bottom of the page.

Committee Meetings

We also have committee meetings! We have committees that any neighbors can join. Please reach out with the form at the bottom to learn more.

Neighborhood Clean Up

Once or twice a year we come together to clean up. We live in the city and we live in the woods, so there is a great diversity in to what we get to clean up! We provide updates and more information when a clean up day is coming.

Custom Events

We have a cookie exchange, we’ve had a new Neighbors meetup, we’ve had a ChauBLOCKqua party.  We are open to new ideas, and we always reserve the right to have other cool events as we see fit.

November Canned Food/Non-Perishable Food Drive

In partnership with the JFT Education Center, we’re stocking the food pantry! These goods will go to the families served by the pantry at JFT as well as families in need whose children go there.

We know times are tough and completely understand if you are not able to participate!

Bags will be distributed around the neighborhood with specific items that are needed. Harding Hills Hy-Vee (over on MLK) has provided us with bags to collect any canned food or non-perishable items you’d like to donate!

To turn in your items:

You can drop your bag off at 1922 Chautauqua Pkwy (please leave on the front steps, no need to ring the doorbell and set off the dog alarm) before Sunday, November 9, or

Place your bag on your front steps by 9am on Sunday, November 9 and someone from the CPNA Board will come by and pick it up!

Reach out to any member of the CPNA board if you have questions, or email chautauquaparkdsm@gmail.com.
